ACCESS XT >> GOODBYE CHAIRLIFTS

The Access XT is the ultimate entry level to intermediate snow kite. It has been designed for riders looking for an incredibly versatile and easy kite to ride for freeriding and backcountry exploring.

What’s important for an entry level kite is excellent stability, easy to control constant power and safety. Thanks to the Access XT’s design riders are able to concentrate on their riding technique with confidence.

From your first lessons on the snow to learning how to jump, backcountry riding and unhooked freestyling, the Access XT does it all!

Our design team and Pro riders always have a 4m or 6m with them when going backcountry as their "get out of jail card free" high wind kite.

The Access XT is constructed from top quality materials and features a double pulley speed-system, utilising the latest high spec Ronstan Orbit Block Series 20 pulleys. We have also added four unique "blow out valves" to the under surface to allow the internal volume of air to be released when the kite is crashed into the ground.

For 2011 the Access XT, Frenzy and Manta M3 all fly with the same bar, the new Contact-Snow Control System.

Quality

Because it counts

Quality is a word that gets used a lot in the kite industry. At Ozone, we don’t take this word lightly; when we use it, we mean it. We are proud of our design and manufacturing and think it’s second to none. We’re proud of our design and manufacturing and believe they set a precedent for the rest of the industry.

Quality begins with design : at Ozone, a quality design results in a kite that handles as well as possible, combined with the highest level of performance and safety.

Choosing materials : this is a simple issue, when we choose materials, we base our decision solely upon the fact that the materials we use are the best available for the job.

Kite production : all Ozone kites are manufactured in our own facility. We have total control over every aspect of the manufacturing process, and each kite is fully inflated and inspected to certified paragliding standards before leaving our DHV-approved factory.

Product testing : Our Kites has undergone thousands of hours of development, from CAD design through to riding in extremes, at -40 0 C in Norway to the baking heat and sand blasts of Chile.
Mylar Edged

Aerodynamics tells us that the leading edge and the trailing edge are the two most critical lines in an aerofoil section. Ozone kites are Mylar taped giving a more rigid structure, a clean and efficient aerofoil, and absolutely zero stretching. The Mylar tape effectively locks the sail shape, meaning your kite keeps it’s factory trim. For the trailing edge we roll the seam twice and stitch to give a soft and clean exit for the airflow.

Double Stitched

Ozone kites are double-needle stitched, which is stronger and more durable than single line stitching in the event of the kite being dragged over rough ground. Even our thread used for stitching the lines and sail is UV-bonded, further adding to the strength and life-span of our kites. Every seam is checked to within 0.5 mm; a look at the colour-scheme accuracy and the inside of the seams of our kites will highlight this fact.

Just remember that only a 1mm error on a cell in a kite with 30 cells leads to an overall error of 3cm, this can make a marked difference to a kites handling, performance and safety!
Lines

Flying Lines

Tested to 300/300kg, Ozone’s heat-treated Edelrid Dyneema SK75 lines ensure stretch resistance, a high thermal tolerance and durability for all kites. Lines are cut, pre-stretched, sleeved and stitched to ensure 100% accuracy. The lines are final load tested to 60% of their breaking strain to “lock” the line and as a final production check.

The ‘kook-proof’ colour-coded and labeled line connection system makes set-up safer and completely stress-free for riders new to kiting.

Bridle Lines

Our aim when designing the bridle lines is to use the least amount of line possible, to minimise parasitic drag through the air, resulting in a more performant kite. Kite design has advanced to the point where the accuracy and diameter of the line lengths is vitally important. To achieve this accuracy, we use the highest quality Dyneema lines which are stitch finished for extra strength and less drag.
Attachment Tabs

Our attachment tabs are sewn deep into the reinforcement area of the ribs, which means that the load is spread over a larger area of material, thus reducing any stretching and ageing of the cloth.
